The West Zone of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (UK) hosted a Women’s Retreat on Sunday, 24th March 2019, at Shri Laxminarayan Temple, Birmingham, bringing together sevikas (women volunteers) from four towns for a day of learning, engagement, and empowerment.

The retreat, running from 9 AM to 5 PM, featured a diverse range of activities. The day commenced with icebreaker sessions, followed by charcha (discussion) workshops, abhyas vargs (training sessions), and khel (games). Adding an element of fun and teamwork, attendees also participated in a treasure hunt, a quiz, and the Maha Khel, all of which were met with great enthusiasm.

A key highlight of the day was the Bauddhik (intellectual discourse) delivered by Hetalben from Nottingham, focusing on Samiti Parichay and the importance of character-building among sevikas. Participants also learned the inspirational geet (song) “Vyakti Vyakti Mein Jagaye”, reinforcing the values of unity and self-improvement.

The event was further enriched by the presence of Shrimati Vidulaji Ambekar, who joined and engaged with the sevikas throughout the retreat. In total, 40 participants took part in this enriching experience, fostering sisterhood and personal growth.
