On June 24, 2018, approximately 80 families—more than 200 adults and children from Sale, Altrincham, and Didsbury—gathered at Delamere Forest in Cheshire for a memorable day of outdoor activities.

The day began with everyone splitting into four groups of about 40 people each, each led by a designated group leader. While the elderly and very young sought comfort under the shaded trees to relax and cheer on the participants, the rest of the group joined in for a series of activities.

The day kicked off with a warm-up session, followed by basic yoga to get everyone energized. Traditional sports were the main highlight, providing the perfect opportunity to bond with fellow participants while building teamwork skills.

After the fun-filled games, everyone came together for a community lunch, where each family had brought along freshly cooked vegetarian dishes. Over 50 different food varieties were shared, showcasing the finest in authentic Indian cooking—a true treat for the senses.

The afternoon saw some light-hearted competition with a sing-off between the girls and boys, revealing some hidden talents among the group! Meanwhile, there was also time to keep up with Harry Kane’s hat trick that day.

The day concluded with a plenary session and a memorable group photo, capturing the spirit of togetherness. This enjoyable away day, known as Van Sanchar, was hosted by the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (UK) Manchester branch, bringing the community together in celebration, fun, and fellowship.
