NAVRATRI FOOD BANK COLLECTION – A FESTIVAL OF GIVING

Last Updated: April 18, 2025By Tags:

During the joyous celebrations of Navratri, communities across the UK came together to embrace the spirit of Sewa (selfless service) through the Navratri Food Bank Collection (NFBC). This non-profit initiative encouraged festival organisers and community groups to incorporate food and toiletry donations as part of their Navratri events.

Rather than just a time of dance and devotion, Navratri became an opportunity to support local food banks, homeless shelters, and orphanages. This initiative was particularly well-received in the HSS (UK) West Midlands, where volunteers and devotees made an incredible contribution of 4,396 kg (4.4 tons) of food and essential items!

The NFBC initiative is a powerful reminder that festivals can go beyond celebrations, inspiring communities to uplift those in need. With the overwhelming success of this year’s collection, the initiative is set to grow even further in the years to come.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated—your generosity has made a real difference!
