Cambridge HSS (UK) Branch Marks Third Successful Blood Drive
March 2019 – On Friday, 8th March 2019, members of the Cambridge Branch of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh UK took part in a local blood donation event as part of their ongoing Sewa (selfless service) initiative. With ten adults stepping forward to donate blood, the Shakha continued to build momentum, marking its third successful blood donation drive within a year.
Coinciding with International Women’s Day, the evening’s Shakha activities took on a more serene and reflective tone. A special quiz and khel (games) session was organised, themed around the contributions of Hindu women throughout history. The event provided an opportunity for learning and celebration, while also honouring the spirit of service and giving.
The gathering concluded with a relaxed and community-driven meal, featuring light snacks and soft drinks contributed by participating families. Adding to the occasion, members took the opportunity to dress in traditional attire, enhancing the cultural and festive atmosphere of the evening.
The continued success of Cambridge Ramanujan Branch’s blood donation drives highlights the group’s commitment to community service and collective well-being, reinforcing the values of Sewa in action.
