On July 7, 2018, in collaboration with Sewa UK, Adarsh Family Shakha Liverpool organized a blood donation drive at the Liverpool Donor Centre.

Inspired by the efforts of Harkishan, the UK Project Manager for Sewa Day in Bradford, the Shakha decided to host their own blood drive. Motivated by his encouragement and leadership, they quickly mobilized the community. With the support of Harkishan and the donor team, they successfully filled all available appointment slots within just two days of sending out the information.

The drive saw 6 donors, most of whom were first-time donors, understandably feeling a bit anxious. However, the dedicated team was on hand to answer questions, address concerns, and guide everyone through the process, ensuring a smooth and reassuring experience.

1. Overbook – cancellations are inevitable, so plan for extra slots.
2. Communicate regularly – provide logistical details, timings, and essential information to help participants feel more prepared on the day.

This successful initiative not only helped save lives but also strengthened the sense of community service within Adarsh Family Shakha Liverpool.
